Leonida — a state in the United States of America, featured in Grand Theft Auto VI. Leonida is world-famous for its beach resorts, amusement parks, warm and sunny climate, water sports, and one of the busiest ports in the world.
The state is also famous for the so-called "Leonida Man" — a local phenomenon inspired by the Florida Man phenomenon, which highlights the often absurd, eccentric, and comical behavior of some regional residents.
Leonida was inspired by Florida, but you can see the influence of Georgia in places, especially in the terrain and such attractions as the Mount Kalaga National Park. Presumably, the state was named in honor of the Spanish conquistador Juan Ponce de León, who led the first European expedition to the Florida peninsula.

Vice City
Vice City – a vibrant coastal city of Leonida, known as the capital of sun and entertainment, where luxury, bustle and excess go hand in hand.
Each district of the city offers something unique: from pastel art deco hotels and snow-white beaches of Ocean Beach to bustling panaderías of Little Cuba and the noisy rows of Tisha-Wocka flea market, stretching all the way to the port of Vice City — the world capital of cruise ships.
Leonida Keys
Leonida Keys – a tropical archipelago, where life flows easy and carefree.
Here reigns an easy-going style, drinks flow like rivers, and endless landscapes stretch all around, though it's not as safe as it may seem at first glance.
Grassrivers
The swamps of Grassrivers hide many surprises underwater.
It's easy to find an alligator here, but more dangerous encounters can happen in the mangrove thickets.
Port Gellhorn
Port Gellhorn was once a popular tourist destination, but now you can only see cheap motels, closed amusement parks and abandoned shopping centers.
Fortified beer, painkillers and energy drinks from the nearest gas station help brighten up the boredom. Jump on an off-road bike and keep your wallet in sight.
Ambrosia
Ambrosia – the heart of Leonida, a bastion of American industry and conservative views.
Local residents work at the Allied Crystal sugar mill, and the local biker gang provides them with almost everything else.
Mount Kalaga
Mount Kalaga – national nature park on the northern border of the state. It is a favorite place for hunters, fishermen and travelers.
Local forests are home to rural mystics and paranoid radicals seeking to hide from the intrusive attention of the authorities.
Miscellaneous
- The State of Leonida seal, inspired by the Florida seal, depicts a man being attacked by an alligator.
- The state of Florida and its locations are mentioned repeatedly throughout the Grand Theft Auto series.
- In the 3D Universe, Florida is the game state in which Vice City is located.
- In the HD Universe, Leonida was also originally called Florida, which was mentioned more than once in GTA 4 and GTA 5.
- With the release of GTA 6, Leonida replaced Florida as the canonical state of the HD Universe. Thus, the game's Florida remained exclusive to the 3D Universe.
- Renaming of locations and other things has already happened in the GTA series, for example:
- Hollywood actors from the promotional materials of GTA 3 became Vinewood actors in GTA San Andreas.
- The city San Andreas from the original 1997 GTA, based on the real San Francisco, for some time was considered canonical in the 3D Universe and was mentioned in GTA 3 and GTA Vice City. After the release of GTA San Andreas, the city was renamed to San Fierro, and the name San Andreas was given to the entire state.
