Immerse yourself in the world of GTA 6 through the official game trailers. They effectively convey the project's atmosphere and overall mood, showcasing the streets, districts, and other locations where the story unfolds.
The trailers also introduce the main characters of Grand Theft Auto VI and provide insight into the world's detail – from bustling city streets to small everyday details that make it feel more alive and realistic.
Trailer 1
The first official GTA 6 trailer was released on December 4, 2023, at approximately 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on YouTube, quickly amassing over 90 million views in the first 24 hours.
The trailer takes place in Vice City and the surrounding areas of Leonida. It captures the city's energy through bustling streets, sunny beaches, scenic waterways, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Dolphins glide through the waters, flamingos take flight over the swamps, and life teems in the urban neighborhoods.
Amidst this chaos, fate brings together the main characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, pulling them into a whirlwind of crime and unpredictable adventures. Lucia is first shown in a prison jumpsuit during a conversation with correctional officer Stefanie, and later free, where she and Jason find themselves in various scrapes.
Beyond the sun-drenched gloss, the trailer also shows another side of Leonida – places where madness becomes part of the daily routine. As law enforcement tries to pull an alligator out of a backyard pool, and another reptile casually walks into a supermarket, police officers arrest a tattooed man with purple hair and chase a naked suspect down the street.
Meanwhile, one woman twerks on the roof of a moving car, another threatens neighbors with a hammer, and an elderly man in his underwear calmly tinkers in his garden, completely ignoring it all.
Each of these moments is instantly captured by bystanders and spread through the in-game internet, reflecting a society where absurdity goes viral in seconds.
Many of these shots are inspired by real events from Florida and echo the meme Florida Man, reimagined in the game as Leonida Man. Against this backdrop, even the scene with racing boats speeding along the shore, clearly inspired by footage from the film "Miami Vice", momentarily seems calm and mundane.
The musical foundation of the trailer is Tom Petty's song Love Is a Long Road, which perfectly matches the city's rhythm and only amplifies the sense of madness that overwhelms Leonida.
The second trailer for GTA 6 was released on May 6, 2025 at approximately 9:30 AM Eastern Time. Within the first 24 hours, it garnered over 475 million views across all video platforms, with 84 million on YouTube alone.
This time, the trailer focuses on the relationship between Lucia and Jason, and also introduces viewers to other characters for the first time, including Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Bae-Luxe and others.
From the very first frames, viewers are shown Jason's daily life in the town of Key-Lento. He is repairing the roof of his stilt house, casually joking with Brian Heder, and driving around the neighborhood in his turquoise Ganado.
Next, Jason's criminal side is revealed as he commits various crimes, including a short but tense robbery of a tobacco shop. Interspersed with the robbery are more mundane activities — such as working out at Vice Beach or buying beer at a grocery store — showing him as a character whose daily routine coexists with crime.
Lucia appears on screen at the moment of her release from prison. Jason meets her at the gate, and the pair warmly greet each other. The heroes' relationship is also revealed through intimate scenes, shared evenings at bars, and episodes in their new home.
The trailer also presents thrilling events taking place in Vice City and Leonida, including high-speed chases on land and water, police pursuits, and coordinated criminal operations.
Lucia performs community service, evades law enforcement, and engages in fights —from kickboxing in a fight club to brawls on a plane — highlighting both the scale of the world and the variety of gameplay awaiting us. The video ends with a shot of Jason and Lucia riding off into the sunset, with the silhouette of Vice City in the background.
Unlike the first trailer, the soundtrack of the second consists of five different songs, which play in the following order:
