The first official trailer for GTA 6 was released on December 4, 2023, at approximately 6:00 PM EST on YouTube, quickly reaching over 90 million views within its first 24 hours.

Set in Vice City and the surrounding areas of the state of Leonida, the trailer captures the energy of the city through bustling streets, sunny beaches, scenic waterways, and a rich variety of flora and fauna. Dolphins glide through the waters, flamingos take flight over the rivers, and the city’s neighborhoods hum with life.

Amidst this vibrant chaos, fate brings together the main characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, drawing them into a whirlpool of crime and unpredictable adventures.

Beyond its sun-drenched glamour, the trailer reflects another side of Leonida — a place where madness is simply part of the daily routine. While authorities wrestle an alligator out of a backyard swimming pool and another reptile casually strolls into a supermarket, police officers arrest a purple-haired man with tattoos and chase a naked suspect down the street.

At the same time, one woman performs a twerk on the roof of a moving car, another threatens her neighbors with a hammer, and an elderly man calmly tends to his garden in his underwear, seemingly unfazed by it all.

Every one of these moments is instantly captured and circulated through the in-game internet, reflecting a society where the absurd becomes viral in seconds.

Many of these scenes are inspired by real events from Florida and echo the “Florida Man” meme, reimagined in-game as “Leonida Man.” Against this backdrop, high-speed boats racing along the shoreline, clearly inspired by a scene from the film Miami Vice, seem calm and ordinary.

The trailer is accompanied by Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road”, which enhances the city’s cinematic energy and complements the whirlwind of chaos and adventure throughout Leonida.

Trailer 2

The second trailer for GTA 6 was released at approximately 9:30 PM EST on May 6, 2025. Across all video platforms, it amassed over 475 million views within the first 24 hours, with its YouTube upload alone reaching 84 million views. The trailer focuses on the relationship between the main characters, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, while also introducing other characters for the first time, including Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Bae-Luxe, and more.

From the very beginning, viewers are shown Jason’s everyday life in Key Lento. He is seen repairing leaks on the roof of his stilt house, engaging in casual banter with Brian Heder, and driving his turquoise Creado through the neighborhood.

The trailer captures Jason’s criminal side as well, including a brief but intense robbery at a smoke shop. Interspersed with these moments are more mundane activities, like working out at Vice Beach or picking up beer at a grocery store, establishing him as a character with a mix of ordinary life and criminal undertakings.

Lucia’s life is also explored, particularly her release from Leonida Penitentiary. Jason meets her at the prison, and the pair reunites warmly, hinting at the strong bond that drives much of the story. Their relationship is further emphasized through intimate scenes, shared moments at bars, and time spent in their new home, giving a sense of both vulnerability and devotion amidst the chaos of their world.

The trailer also presents exciting sequences across Vice City and Leonida, including high-speed chases on land and water, police pursuits, and coordinated criminal operations. Scenes feature Lucia performing community service, escaping from law enforcement, and participating in combat scenarios, from kickboxing in a fight club to aerial confrontations, emphasizing both the scale of the world and the variety of gameplay players can expect. The clip concludes with Jason and Lucia driving into the sunset, with the Vice City skyline visible in the background.

Unlike the first trailer, the second features a soundtrack of five distinct songs, played in chronological order:
