Trailer 1
The first official GTA 6 trailer was released on December 4, 2023 at approximately 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on YouTube, quickly accumulating over 90 million views in the first 24 hours.
The trailer's action unfolds in Vice City and the surrounding areas of the State of Leonida. It conveys the city's energy through bustling streets, sunny beaches, picturesque bodies of water, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Dolphins glide across the waters, flamingos take flight over the swamp, and life thrives in the urban quarters.
Amidst this chaos, fate brings together the main characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and draws them into a whirlwind of crime and unpredictable adventures. First, Lucia is shown in prison clothes during a dialogue with a correctional facility staff member Stefanie, and then already free, where together with Jason she finds herself in various scrapes.
Beyond the sun-drenched gloss, the trailer also shows another side of Leonida – places where madness becomes part of everyday routine. While authorities attempt to pull an alligator from a backyard pool, and another reptile leisurely enters a supermarket, police officers arrest a tattooed man with purple hair and chase a naked suspect down the street.
At the same time, one woman twerks on the roof of a moving car, another threatens neighbors with a hammer, and an elderly man in just his underwear calmly tends to his garden, completely ignoring all of this.
Each of these moments is instantly captured by passersby and spread through the in-game internet, thus reflecting a society in which absurdity goes viral in mere seconds.
Many of these frames are inspired by real events from Florida and echo the meme Florida Man, reimagined in the game as Leonida Man. Against this backdrop, even a scene with racing boats speeding along the shore, clearly inspired by footage from the movie "Miami Vice", seems calm and ordinary for a moment.
The musical foundation of the trailer is the song by Tom Petty Love Is a Long Road, which fits perfectly to the rhythm of the city and only enhances the sense of that madness that overwhelms Leonida.
Trailer 2
The second GTA 6 trailer was released on May 6, 2025 at approximately 09:30 Eastern Standard Time. Within the first 24 hours, it garnered over 475 million views across all video platforms, with YouTube alone reaching 84 million views.
This time, the trailer focuses on the relationship between Lucia and Jason, and also introduces viewers to other characters for the first time, including Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Bae-Luxe and others.
From the very first frames, viewers are shown Jason's everyday life in the town of Key Lento. He fixes the roof of his stilt house, casually jokes with Brian Heder, and drives around the district in his turquoise Ganado.
Next, Jason's criminal side is revealed, where he commits various crimes, including a short but tense robbery of a tobacco shop. Interspersed with robbery are also more mundane activities – for example, training on Vice Beach or buying beer at a grocery store – which shows him as a character whose life intertwines routine with crime.
Lucia appears on screen at the moment of her release from prison. Jason meets her at the gate and the couple greets warmly. The heroes' relationship is also revealed through intimate scenes, shared evenings in bars, and episodes in their new home.
The trailer also features exciting events taking place in Vice City and Leonida, including high-speed chases on land and water, police pursuits, and coordinated criminal operations.
Lucia performs community service, evades law enforcement, and participates in combat – from kickboxing at a fighting club to fights on an airplane, which highlights both the scale of the world and the variety of gameplay that awaits us. The trailer ends with a shot of Jason and Lucia driving into the sunset, with the silhouette of Vice City visible in the background.

An Extended Look
An Extended Look at GTA 6 gameplay took place on August 27, 2026 — it is the longest official game demonstration that Rockstar Games has ever released, and the first major showcase since the second trailer in May 2025.
The video, over 26 minutes long, was released on Netflix, and six hours later appeared on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and on the GTA 6 website. All footage was recorded on a standard PlayStation 5.
At the beginning of the video, Jason and Lucia enter a building to get merchandise for Boobies, look for Raymond there, but the meeting in the drug den turns into a police raid. Shooting back at cops, Jason takes the bag and tries to escape with Lucia.
In the next episode, they go to visit Brian and Lori, and the demonstration alternates with scenes where the duo robs several establishments. Later, the pair meets Raul, and the meeting with him immediately turns into a hot pursuit: Jason and Raul shoot back at patrol cars and a helicopter, while Lucia drives the car. After shaking off the tail, they stop and Raul pays the heroes, offering further cooperation.
Next, many open-world activities are demonstrated: rides on scooters, jet skis and speedboats, participation in races, target practice and much more. Among the quieter activities — basketball, gym training, kayaking, strip club, swimming in the sea and relaxing on the beach, as well as a walk in augmented reality glasses and a meeting with Dre'Quan. Criminal episodes are also shown, including police chases and robberies of small shops.
In one of the scenes, Lucia steals a car and discovers a streamer in the trunk, who continues streaming as if nothing happened, while the heroes run from the cops.
Separately shown is character switching on the fly: Lucia jumps off a roof and opens a parachute, after which control immediately switches to Jason, who at that moment is sitting on a couch at home.
The climax of the trailer is a mission to protect Andrés de León at the opening of the first American office of Megamundo, and the drive to the event alternates with scenes of Vice City's nightlife. At the venue, Jason and Lucia are introduced to the company director Petra Navarro. When the party is attacked, everyone is put on the floor, and Andrés is grabbed and beaten, demanding money. Jason shoots from cover, sometimes slowing down time for accurate shots, and Lucia fights on a dark staircase, and at the moment when she falls together with the attacker, the frame cuts off.
The finale of the trailer consists of urban landscapes and scenes from the life of Vice City: joint fishing of Jason, Lucia, and Cal on a boat, parties, various corners and inhabitants of the city.
Throughout the entire trailer, you can see new mechanics: free switching between two guns without calling up the weapon wheel, the return of the six-star wanted level, the "criminal profile" system, and the ability to resolve a conflict with words instead of shooting.
In addition, car theft has become more varied: you can break the glass the old-fashioned way or carefully pick the lock with a lockpick through a mini-game. Also shown is the updated interface: the map has become three-dimensional, and icons have appeared below the indicator, clarifying what descriptions the police are using to search for the protagonist.
The trailer concludes with confirmation that all shown footage was recorded on a base PlayStation 5, and the game's release date remained unchanged — it is November 19, 2026.
