Red Dead Online — an online open-world action-adventure experience released in 2019 as the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2. It is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and also playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility.
Story
Set in 1898, the game follows a customizable silent protagonist who escapes execution after being framed for murder. Recruited by Jessica LeClerk, the player works to uncover the truth, take revenge on those responsible, and ultimately clear their name through missions that unfold across the American frontier.
Character
Players create their own outlaw, shaping appearance, clothing, and progression. Skills grow through play, while choices influence Honor, affecting mission paths and how the world responds.
Gameplay
Red Dead Online offers a large open world with story missions, free-roam events, hunting, trading, and shootouts. Players build camps, ride and bond with horses, form posses, earn money and gold, and progress through roles such as Bounty Hunter, Trader, Collector, Moonshiner, or Naturalist. Customization spans characters, horses, and equipment, allowing each player to develop a unique frontier life.
