A national landmark up against the state’s northern border, Mount Kalaga offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails. In the lush surrounding backwoods, hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live far from the prying eyes of the government.
Mount Kalaga National Park is a national park located on the northern border of the State of Leonida, featured in Grand Theft Auto VI. The park features rugged forests, canyons, and riverways, offering visitors a range of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, kayaking, and off-road adventures. Wildlife in the park includes deer, cougars, and foxes, and dense forests surrounding the area are home to rural mystics and paranoid radicals seeking to hide from intrusive authorities.
The park’s landscape draws inspiration from regions of Georgia and northern Florida. Its canyon appears influenced by Providence Canyon State Park in southwest Georgia, while the mountain resembles Table Rock in western North Carolina. The river running through the park is modeled after the Suwannee River, and the rail bridge spanning it may be based on the Hillman Bridge in Ellaville, Florida. The name Kalaga comes from the Cherokee word ᎧᎸᎬ (kalvgv), meaning “east” or “sunrise.”
