Grassrivers
The unconquered pearl of LeonidaWelcome to the Wetlands
The untamable jewel of Leonida’s crown.
You never know what lies beneath the surface of this primordial expanse. The gators may be the most famous attraction, but there are far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries among the mangroves.
Grassrivers is a vast wetland region of flooded grasslands in the State of Leonida, featured in Grand Theft Auto VI. Located in the southern portion of the state, the region stretches across Vice-Dale County and Mariana County. The area is characterized by shallow waters, dense marsh vegetation, and diverse wildlife typical of subtropical wetlands.
Grassrivers was indirectly referenced in GTA 4 through in-game websites, including a Vice City travel advertisement and a post about a tourist smuggling a crocodile from the city’s wetland border to Liberty City. The region later appeared officially in the first trailer for GTA 6, showing an airboat crossing the marshes and a large flamboyance of flamingos alongside multiple alligators.
Grassrivers is inspired by the Everglades in Florida. Its name likely references the 1947 book The Everglades: River of Grass by Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
