Lucia Caminos
The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got.
Lucia Caminos is one of the main protagonists of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. In the 2020s, she serves a sentence at Leonida Penitentiary, where she is assigned a social worker named Stefanie.
Following her release, Lucia becomes involved with Jason Duval in a large-scale criminal conspiracy. As shown across the trailers, the two rob various establishments throughout the State of Leonida and become entangled in a series of dangerous situations, including armed confrontations and police pursuits.
Together, they must navigate the escalating consequences of their actions and find a way to survive within an increasingly volatile criminal landscape. Their relationship appears to extend beyond professional cooperation, suggesting a personal connection as well.
Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.
Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Lucia’s learned her lesson — only smart moves from here.
More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City — but instead of half-baked fantasies, Lucia is prepared to take matters into her own hands.
A life with Jason could be her way out.
Fresh out of prison and ready to change the odds in her favor, Lucia’s committed to her plan — no matter what it takes.
Miscellaneous
Lucia is the first fully voiced, non-selectable female protagonist in the GTA series, with her own unique personality.
Chronologically, Lucia is the eighth female protagonist in the series and the second in the HD Universe. All previous female protagonists were silent characters, including:
Divine, Katie, Mikki, and Ulrika — Grand Theft Auto 1
Candy and Gretchen — Grand Theft Auto 2 for Game Boy Color
GTA Online female protagonist
The duo of Jason and Lucia seems to be inspired by the real-life criminals Bonnie and Clyde.
On the official GTA 6 announcement cover, the couple’s personal car shows bullet holes, reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde’s ambushed vehicle.
By the way, the well-known Catalina from the 3D Universe of the series may also have been inspired by Bonnie.
Lucia shares some characteristics with Katie, one of the protagonists from the first Grand Theft Auto, who is also a Latina and had a criminal record in Vice City during the 2D Universe era.
Her character also has similarities to Sadie Adler from Red Dead Redemption 2, being a skilled robber, proficient with firearms, and a companion to a male protagonist.
When Vice City first appeared in the 3D Universe, the first voiced protagonist was Tommy Vercetti. With the HD reboot, Lucia becomes the first fully voiced female protagonist in the GTA series.
