GTA 6 pre-load begins on November 10, nine days before launch. That's two days earlier than announced: when Rockstar opened pre-orders, the date was November 12.
On PS5, pre-loading opens at midnight local time in each region. On Xbox Series X|S, it starts worldwide at the same moment: 12 a.m. GMT on November 10, which is 7 p.m. ET on November 9. Rockstar explains how to start the pre-load on each console on its support site.
How much space you need
The game will take up to 212 GB, depending on the console. Earlier, around 210 GB for PS5 turned up in the PlayStation Store database; now Rockstar has given the figure itself. It's worth clearing space ahead of time so you can start the download on day one.
Code-in-box copies
Boxed versions for both consoles hit stores on November 12. There's no disc inside, only a download code, so you'll still have to download the game. Rockstar hasn't said anything about a disc edition, but media reports put it in December.
Poster and map of Leonida
On November 19, the official GTA 6 site will add a printable cover art poster and a map of Leonida, both free to download. Shortly after launch, a double-sided physical poster will go on sale at the Rockstar Store: $0.99 on its own, or free with any purchase.
