GTA 6 will need around 210 GB on PlayStation 5. The figure was posted on October 27 by PlayStation Game Size, an account that tracks the PlayStation Store database and spots game sizes before they're announced. Insider Gaming says it can corroborate the number.
Rockstar and Sony haven't given a size yet, and it's unclear whether the 210 GB includes a day-one patch.
Grand Theft Auto VI. Download size: 210 GB. Standard ($79.99). Pre-load: November 12. Release: November 19, at midnight
How much space that is
A standard PS5 ships with an 825 GB drive, of which about 667 GB is free for games. GTA 6 will take up almost a third of it, so plenty of players will have to delete a game or two before launch.
For comparison, Red Dead Redemption 2 asked for about 150 GB of free space on PS4 in 2018. GTA 6 is 60 GB bigger.
No size has surfaced yet for Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox Series S has a 512 GB drive with about 364 GB free.
When you can download it
The pre-load date is official: Rockstar announced it when it opened pre-orders. Anyone who buys the digital version can download the game from November 12, a week before it comes out on November 19.
The physical edition has no disc in the box, only a download code. It also hits stores on November 12, so you'll need the same amount of space on your console.
