The Goodtime State

Only in Leonida

When the sun fades and the neon glows, everyone has something to gain — and more to lose.

State of Leonida is a state in the United States of America, featured in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. The state is evidently based on Florida, with additional influences from Georgia, particularly in its topography and landmarks such as Mount Kalaga National Park. It appears to be named after Spanish conquistador Juan Ponce de León, who led the first European expedition to the Florida peninsula.

Leonida is world-renowned for its beach resorts, amusement parks, warm and sunny climate, nautical recreation, and hosting one of the busiest ports in the world. The state is also famous for the so-called “Leonida Men,” a local phenomenon inspired by Florida Man, highlighting the often absurd, outrageous, and humorous behavior of some of its residents.

Vice City

Vice City is a vibrant coastal city in Leonida, known as a sun-and-fun capital where glamour, hustle, and excess meet.

Each neighborhood offers something unique, from the pastel art deco hotels and bright white sands of Ocean Beach, to the bustling panaderías of Little Cuba and the lively stalls of the Tisha-Wocka flea market, stretching out to the VC Port, the cruise ship capital of the world.

Grassrivers

The swamplands of Grassrivers hide many surprises beneath the water's surface.

It's easy to encounter an alligator here, but even more extreme encounters can happen in the mangrove thickets.

Port Gellhorn

Port Gellhorn was once a popular tourist destination, but now you can only see cheap motels, closed amusement parks, and empty shopping malls.

Fortified beer, painkillers, and energy drinks from the nearest gas station help alleviate the boredom. Jump on a dirt bike and don't lose sight of your wallet.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia is the heart of Leonida, a stronghold of American industry and conservative views.

The residents work at the Allied Crystal sugar factory, and the local biker gang supplies them with almost everything else.

Mount Kalaga

Mount Kalaga is a national nature park on the northern border of the state. It's a favorite spot for hunters, fishermen, and travelers.

The surrounding forests are home to rural mystics and paranoid radicals seeking to hide from the intrusive attention of authorities.
