Every cheat for GTA 5 story mode on PC, PlayStation and Xbox: button sequences, PC console commands and in-game phone numbers. The full list is above, sorted by category. Below: how to enter cheats, which version of the game you have, and what cheats switch off.
How to enter GTA 5 cheats
On PlayStation and Xbox
Enter the button sequence during gameplay, quickly and without pausing between presses. If the code is accepted, you'll see “Cheat activated” in the top corner of the screen. Too slow, and nothing happens: try again.
On PC
Press ~ (the key to the left of 1; on UK keyboards it's ¬) to open the cheat console. Type the code in capitals, for example PAINKILLER, and press Enter.
Using the phone
On PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC you can also dial a cheat on Michael's, Franklin's or Trevor's phone. Open the phone, go to the keypad, dial the number (for example 1-999-887-853) and call it.
Most cheats switch off when you enter them again. Vehicle and weather cheats can't be switched off this way.
Which version of GTA 5 are you playing?
- PS3 and Xbox 360. Button sequences only. There are no phone cheats and no Duke O'Death, Dodo or Kraken spawns.
- PS4 and Xbox One. Button sequences and phone numbers. Duke O'Death, Dodo and Kraken spawn by phone once you've unlocked them in the story.
- PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The same cheats as PS4 and Xbox One.
- PC. Console commands and phone numbers. Controller sequences aren't used.
Duke O'Death unlocks after the “Duel” random event, Dodo after the “Sea Plane” random event, and Kraken after the Wildlife Photography Challenge.
Do cheats disable trophies and achievements?
Yes. Once you use a cheat, trophies and achievements are disabled until you reload a save or restart the game. Missions completed with cheats on are capped at a bronze medal.
Cheat effects aren't stored in your save, so 100% completion is still possible. To be safe, save to a separate slot before you start.
Cheat not working?
- You're in a mission. Many cheats, including Invincibility, are blocked during missions.
- There's no room for the vehicle. Move to an open area and try again.
- The vehicle isn't unlocked yet. Duke O'Death, Dodo and Kraken need their story unlocks first.
- The sequence was too slow. Enter it in one go.
- It's the wrong platform's code. PlayStation and Xbox sequences use different buttons.
