The upcoming Grand Theft Auto V update for PC is now available for pre-load on Rockstar Games Launcher and Steam. Its release will take place on March 4.

The updated version of GTA V includes improved graphics, exclusive content from PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, faster loading and much more. You can learn more about the innovations here.

The preload is available to anyone who has previously purchased GTA V. Search your library for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced to launch it. The update is absolutely free, which can't help but make you happy.

The current version of the game has been renamed Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, it will also remain available and will be updated.

Transferring GTA V story mode saves

In addition, from today you will be able to transfer your story mode progress to the new version directly from the pause menu.

You can send saves multiple times, but it's worth considering that only one save per platform can be stored in the cloud. By sending another save, you overwrite the previous one. Accordingly, in the new version of the game will be able to select only one save and only once.

You will not be able to transfer saves from GTAV Enhanced back to GTAV Legacy.

Transferring GTA Online progress

After the update is released, you will be able to transfer your GTA Online progress from GTAV Legacy to GTAV Enhanced. You can only transfer once, and your progress in GTAV Legacy will be saved. You cannot undo the procedure.

The transfer includes characters, GTA$, progress, stats, vehicles, properties, weapons, clothing and player-created jobs.

Players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can only transfer story mode saves and GTA Online progress to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Transferring progress between PlayStation, Xbox and PC is still not possible.
