Lucia Caminos

In the 2020s, Lucia is serving time in prison, and upon her release is eager to implement a new plan

Lucia Caminos is one of the main protagonists of the upcoming game GTA 6. In the 2020s, she serves time in a correctional facility in the state of Leonida, where she is supervised by social worker Stefanie.

After her release, Lucia, along with Jason, gets involved in a criminal conspiracy that they will have to navigate together.

Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.

Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Lucia’s learned her lesson — only smart moves from here.

More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City — but instead of half-baked fantasies, Lucia is prepared to take matters into her own hands.

'The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got.'

A life with Jason could be her way out.

Fresh out of prison and ready to change the odds in her favor, Lucia’s committed to her plan — no matter what it takes.

The First Female Protagonist in the GTA Series?

Lucia is the first playable female protagonist that the player cannot choose independently and who has voice acting and a unique personality. Overall, Lucia ranks as the eighth main protagonist in the GTA series and the second specifically in the HD universe.

Yes, contrary to popular belief, Lucia is not the first female protagonist in the Grand Theft Auto world, as players were offered several female protagonists to choose from in the very first game of the series, now known as Grand Theft Auto 1. Along with male characters, there were Divine, Katie, Mikki, and Ulrika.

It was also possible to play as a female character in the Game Boy Color edition of Grand Theft Auto 2: here, the choice was between male protagonists and the female characters Candy and Gretchen.

The aforementioned games were released back in the late 1990s, but a controllable female protagonist also exists in a game that remains relevant to this day. This is, of course, the silent protagonist of GTA Online.

Both genders of the GTA Online protagonist, as chosen by the player, are considered canonical, with unique dialogue in cutscenes for each of them. Outside of GTA Online, they are referred to with gender-neutral pronouns to avoid contradictions.
